The School of Conjuration is used to raise the dead, summon creatures from one of the planes of Oblivion, and soul trap opponents killed in combat. The conjuration skill governs the effectiveness of using spells that summon creatures to fight for you, and temporarily conjured weapons. The spells can also be augmented with potions which Fortify Conjuration.

Master Conjuration Spells (Skill level 100) Master Conjuration spells cannot be purchased until you have completed the 'Conjuration Ritual Spell' quest given by Phinis Gestor at the College of Winterhold, upon reaching level 90 Conjuration: Spell Name Description Base Magicka Cost; Dead Thrall: Reanimate a dead body to fight for the player.

  • Bound Dagger - Creates a magic dagger for 120 seconds. Sheathe it to dispel [1]
  • Bound Sword - Creates a magic sword for 120 seconds. Sheathe it to dispel
  • Conjure Familiar - Summons a Familiar for 60 seconds wherever the caster is pointing
  • Raise Zombie - Reanimate a weak dead body to fight for you for 60 seconds
  • Summon Unbound Dremora - Summons an unbound dremora for 999 seconds

  • Bound Battleaxe - Creates a magic battle axe for 120 seconds. Sheathe it to dispel
  • Conjure Boneman - Summons a Boneman Archer from the Soul Cairn for 60 seconds wherever the caster is pointing [2]
  • Conjure Flame Atronach - Summons a Flame Atronach for 60 seconds wherever the caster is pointing
  • Flaming Familiar - Summons a flaming familiar which will charge into battle and explode
  • Reanimate Corpse - Reanimate a more powerful dead body to fight for you for 60 seconds
  • Soul Trap - If target dies within 60 seconds, fills a soul gem
  • Summon Arvak - Summons Arvak in the Soul Cairn or Tamriel wilderness to act as your steed [2]

There are two distinct Fortify Conjuration effects: one from Alchemy-created potions and one granted by enchanting armor. Their effects are as follows.

In potions, Fortify Conjuration increases the duration of Conjuration magic.

Enchanting[edit]

In enchantments, Fortify Conjuration decreases the cost of Conjuration spells, and the use cost of Conjuration based enchantments. It does not increase the skill level for Conjuration which appears in the skills sub-menu.

The following items use this effect. You can learn how to enchant custom items with Fortify Conjuration if you find one of the following items and disenchant it:

  • All varieties of Armor, Bracers, and Helmet of Conjuring
    • Includes the enchantments of Minor Fortify Conjuring, of Major Fortify Conjuring, of Extreme Fortify Conjuringof Eminent Fortify Conjuring, and of Peerless Fortify Conjuring.
  • All varieties of Robes, Circlets, and Imperial Helmets of Conjuration
